What a Blairiffic Clay Creation!!!
Today, I would like to write about a special student named Blair. Blair is a nineteen year-old clay artist from my hometown Santa Clarita, CA. He has a special talent that would amaze people. Blair has been creating professional looking clay sculptures for his pleasure, family and friends since he was young. Blair is a student with autism. He was diagnosed when he's about 4 years old. Since then, his mother has dedicated her life working as a special education assistant at the school where he went.
One Thursday afternoon, I've invited Blair to come and show me some of his creations. He came with boxes containing his marvelous clay figures. Also, with him were different clay colors in separate containers. He said, the best clay to use is "Crayola Magic Air-Dry". Mother added that he has created more than 300 figures including Disney characters, Christmas ornaments, and famous people. Also, he can make up his own character when he’s motivated.
Blair has been recognized in his school many times for all the amazing artworks he did. He gets invitations to display his artwork and asks to demonstrate his unbelievable molding skill. Blair is very shy in nature and soft spoken. And Oh! he loves Michael
Jackson so much! Currently, he is fixated on Michael Jackson's unusual costumes.

Here's a great challenge. After completing high school, other options offered to him are not suited to his artistic needs.
Blair has a DREAM. With his exceptional talent, Blair can be successfully working in a “Disney” type of company making clay figures or maybe open up his own business. Who knows? This young talented boy needs publicity through magazines, TV, Radio, websites and workshops. We can HELP make Blair's dream come true.
You can email me cathyparasdh@yahoo.com or post a comment or forward this blog to anyone you think that can help Blair pursue his dream!!! Thank you.
